SELF Portraits

Art brings me so much joy, and I’d love to share that joy with you by collaborating with you to create your SELF Portrait. Representing Soul, Expression, Learning, and Fulfillment, this portrait can serve as a visual reminder of who you are. Clients I’ve worked with have put them on their phone background, printed and posted at their desk, or even ordered a canvas print online.

Here’s how it works

  1. In an early coaching session together, we’ll dive into a technique to tap into others’ perspective of you, as we are not the best observers of ourselves. After this session, you’ll gather these perspectives and send them to me.
  2. I’ll then refine your SELF into five words and share them with you in our subsequent coaching session. From there, we’ll partner on how understanding your SELF can serve as your north star and guiding you innsetting and achieving your goals in life.
  3. I’ll ask you to share your favorite colors, favorite art styles or artists, and hobbies with me. Then I’ll use Midjourney, the generative artificial intelligence program, to refine three to five of the most visually stunning SELF portrait options for you from hundreds of curated possibilities. I can then iterate on the options, blend them, or even create new ones. Once you’ve chosen your favorite, I’ll provide a high-quality file.

As an example, my SELF is
Sanctuary
Spirit
Heart
Wisdom
Joy

I combined these words with a prompt including abstract painting, and my favorite colors of red, orange, and blue. Eventually, I got a portrait that “looked” like me!

Why work with me for a SELF Portrait?

Blending art with my other love, coaching, is an offering of the best of myself. I’ve been “the artsy one” all my life. To me, viewing famous paintings in-person is better than meeting celebrities. During trivia nights, I’m all over art and art history! I fell in love with collage in high school and I began working with acrylics in 2012. I’ve shown paintings at the Propylaeum in downtown Indianapolis and debuted at the 2014 Broad Ripple Art Fair’s Emerging Artist area.

My technique constantly evolves – from palette knife work, to impressionist-style brush strokes, to fluid acrylic pouring, and now using Midjourney as a medium – but I always aim to share joy.
